AV Systems Integration Specialist

Overview
The Senior Cross Technology Technical Services (TS) Systems Integration Specialist / Technical Lead is involved in highly complex environments for installation, integration, deployment, configuration and fault management. This role compiles technical specifications in a clear, concise manner to explain the advantages and disadvantages of options, leads to the final solution, and develops backup planning with alternative solutions. The role aims toward expert level certification while building business knowledge and has advanced proficiency across two or more technologies, including Networking, Data Centre, Security, Customer experience, Collaboration and/or End User Compute.Responsibilities
Implementing audio-visual systems tailored to client needsPerforming installation and setup of AV equipment such as projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing toolsConducting troubleshooting of AV systemsConfiguring and calibrating AV equipment to ensure optimal performanceProviding technical support and training for users on AV system operationCollaborating with network engineers to integrate AV systems into network infrastructureManaging and documenting inventory of equipment and accessoriesStaying up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and industry trendsUnderstanding detailed system installation diagrams and technical drawings / documentationEnsuring compliance with industry standards and regulationsProficient in reviewing architectural, MEP, and AV schematics and construction drawingsSkilled at identifying design conflicts, integration issues, and coordination gapsAble to provide detailed technical recommendations and value-engineering solutionsFamiliar with UK building regulations and standards affecting AV installationsTesting, Calibration, and Analysis: Experienced in acoustic analysis (STC, RT60, ambient noise measurements) and calibrating DSPs, equalizers, speaker arrays, and microphones for audio clarityCapable of testing and adjusting lighting systems for coverage, uniformity, and DALI / DMX protocolsProficient in evaluating AV scenarios to optimize performance and user experienceStructured cabling mastery: advanced knowledge of Network/Data (Cat6, Cat6a, Fibre), Video (HDMI, SDI, DisplayPort, HDBaseT), Audio (Analog, AES/EBU, Dante, XLR), and Electrical (low-voltage and AV power circuits)Skilled in compliant cable routing, containment installation, and patchingAdheres to BS 7671 and UK standards for safe and high-quality wiring practicesSystems Integration and Commissioning: experienced in configuring and integrating AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC, etc.), installing and commissioning conferencing systems, projectors, displays, and audio processorsDelivers comprehensive handovers including documentation, client training, and snag resolutionAdvanced AV Application Knowledge: AV-over-IP deployments (Dante, NDI, SDVoE); familiarity with AV software platforms, remote monitoring tools; interfacing AV systems with building automation and IT networksQualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Electronics, or a related fieldCertifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist - Design), Audiovisual Network Professional CertificationExperience with AV control systems like Crestron, Extron, or AMXProficiency in AutoCAD or other design software for system layoutExpertise in networking and IP-based AV solutionsStrong understanding of acoustics and sound system designProject management skills and experience leading AV projectsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and customer service abilitiesAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyWillingness to stay current with evolving AV technologiesProven experience as an AV Engineer or similar roleHands-on experience with installation and configuration of AV equipmentStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issuesComfortable working with cabling, wiring, and electrical systemsAbility to lift and carry heavy AV equipment as requiredGood communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical usersFlexibility to travel to different sites for installations and supportFamiliarity with health and safety regulations related to AV installationsAbility to work independently as well as part of a ..... full job details .....
