About the Role
The Auto Section Setter position in Coventry requires a skilled operator to manage and changeover machinery over a 12-month contract. Paying £20.36 per hour for 37.5 weekly hours, this role involves gauging product features, recording measurements, and upholding process standards. You will maintain safety, quality, TPM, and 5S disciplines while supporting team improvement initiatives. Auto Section Setter
Term: 12 months
Location: Ansty Park
Pay Rate: £20.36 per hour PAYE, 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machine/multiple machines.
- Set up and changeover machines.
- Guage and measure and record features on products in line with process standards.
- Maintain and carry out Safety, Quality, TPM and 5 s activity.
- Attend and support team improvement activity.
- Follow company policy and procedures.
- Flexible in working practices at all times.
- Fill in route cards and any other paperwork clearly as and when required, also updating MRP confirmations.
- Work at all times in an environment of continuous improvement
- Work as a team player at all times
- Inspect and verify their own work with an excellent eye for detail.
- To be able to work on own initiative
- Use cleaning equipment when required.
- Perform basic TPM activities on equipment used.
- Attend start of shift briefs and other team meetings where required
- Take part in problem solving activities and Kaizens where required
- Production of conforming parts in Zone 7 in line with agreed production plan
- End of shift clean down and adherence to 5S standard
- Raising of Safety Concerns where identified (including Product Safety Concerns)
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Have 2 years machine experience with operating and setting.
- Apprentice engineering/machinist trained/ qualified.
- An engineering apprenticeship is desirable, although job specific training will be given.
- 1 year''s similar experience in an engineering manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Ability to operate various inspection and test equipment (Vernier, Micrometer, Go/No GO, Shadow graph, CMM, etc.)
- Good computer skills are desirable (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Q-Pulse etc).
- Demonstrable ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Lifting, meeting the eye test requirements of the role.
- SPC trained.
- GDT trained.
- Must be able to do machine offsets and understand machine code.
- Machine setting and tool and tip changes.
