You will be asked to send a short video introduction on WhatsApp which the service user will view to alleviate any anxiety he has around potentially meeting new people.
RoleBank Support Worker (male support staff only) for a non verbal man with autism, emotional and complex needs in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Responsibilities
Join our team to support a non-verbal 31-year-old man with autism and complex needs to live in his own home.
Follow a robust care plan which forms part of the main structure of the service.
Provide support with daily activities and community engagement as defined in the care plan.
Participate in training and shadowing periods; no prior experience is required as full training is provided.
Access to a company car (automatic) while supporting the service user; a driving licence is not essential for this position.
Be flexible to spend time with the service user to determine if this placement is right for you; take part in an introductory session with the service user and the service team manager if requested.
Working pattern
Shift pattern includes some weekends and/or shifts to cover sickness or gaps in the rota.
No shifts are guaranteed; bank/relief support workers are available as and when needed.
Training and shadow shiftsTraining and shadow shifts will take place at any point during any day of the week and/or up to one weekend a month. Please ensure you are available to participate fully in the training.
Hours and pay
Holiday pay: paid on top of the hourly rate at 12.07% which equates to 5.6 weeks annual leave.
Rates of pay: £15.50 per hour plus holiday pay, to a total of £17.37 per hour.
Night sleep-in rate: £34 per sleep-in (in some cases an enhanced amount of £89.10 per sleep may be paid if awake).
Payroll and benefits
You will be paid towards the end of the month (within the last 4 days) in arrears via PAYE administered by Wiltshire Council payroll; all tax, national insurance, pension, etc., are calculated by them and you will receive a monthly payslip with payments and deductions.
