Audit and Accounts Semi-SeniorLocation: Wanstead, Essex (Hybrid - 2 days WFH)Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hoursReporting to: DirectorA well-established accountancy practice is seeking an Audit and Accounts Semi-Senior to join its Wanstead office. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant looking to gain greater responsibility across accounts and audit in a supportive practice environment.The firm is open to candidates who may have experienced ACA/ACCA exam failures and are looking for the right setting to regain momentum and continue their qualification while building solid practice experience.Candidates must be based locally to Wanstead / Essex, ideally within a 30-minute commute.The role is 70% accounts and 30% audit, offering a balanced and varied workload.ResponsibilitiesPrepare statutory accounts for SME clients with limited supervisionDraft disclosures and identify standard accounting adjustmentsTake responsibility for allocated audit sectionsPerform substantive and controls testingProduce clear, well-documented working papersSupport junior staff during audit fieldworkLiaise directly with clients to resolve queriesCandidate ProfilePart-qualified ACA / ACCA (QBE considered)Exam resits or prior exam failures will be considered1+ years'' experience within a practice environmentExposure to audit workStrong double-entry bookkeeping skillsBasic tax knowledge (CT, VAT, PAYE)Experience with Xero, Excel, and Word (IRIS preferred)Organised, communicative, and client-focusedIf ..... full job details .....
