Audit and Accounts Senior

Sheridan Maine is looking for a skilled Audit and Accounts Senior to join a respected and growing accountancy firm in Essex. This role provides a balance of audit and accounts work, ideal for someone seeking variety and client-facing responsibility within a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities.

- Plan, lead and complete audit assignments for a diverse client portfolio.
- Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
- Draft corporation tax computations and liaise with HMRC where needed.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering clear advice and support.
- Review work prepared by junior staff and assist in their development.
- Ensure compliance with current accounting and auditing standards.
- Report directly to managers and partners with progress updates and findings.

What we’re looking for.

- ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist with strong practice experience.
- Solid background in both audit and accounts.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
- Team player with a proactive and client-focused attitude.
