Attendance Officer

Location: Haringey, North London
Start Date: Immediate start
Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract: Long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Attendance Officer in Haringey, starting immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised school attendance professional who has previous experience working in a similar role and is proficient in using SIMS.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain accurate student attendance records.
• Identify and follow up on student absences, lateness and patterns of poor attendance.
• Contact parents and carers regarding unexplained absences and attendance concerns.
• Update and maintain attendance information using SIMS.
• Produce attendance reports and support the school in improving overall attendance and punctuality.
• Work closely with pastoral staff, senior leaders and other relevant colleagues to address attendance issues.
• Ensure attendance procedures and safeguarding protocols are followed.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Attendance Officer within a school setting.
• Confident and competent in using SIMS.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
• A proactive, professional and flexible approach.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:15pm
• Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
• Total: 36 hours per week
