This Academy will be delivered in partnership with North West Regional College (NWRC). Training The Electrical Switchgear Academy with Vertiv is an eight-week training course providing practical knowledge and real-world experience required to work in the sector. Training will include five weeks intensive training at NWRC and three weeks on-site training in Vertiv at Campsie Industrial Estate, Derry Londonderry. Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of £185 for the duration of the Academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare expenses where people qualify. Successful applicants to the Academy will work towards a Level 2 entry level qualification in Electrical Installation (EAL) for work in the electrical switchgear sector. Those who successfully finish the course are guaranteed an interview with Vertiv for a permanent role as a Junior Panel Wirer. An interview is not a guarantee of a job.
