Associate Principal Medical Writer
to join their dynamic Medical team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of high-quality, scientifically accurate content across a variety of therapeutic areas, while also playing a strategic role in client engagement and internal team development.You will act as a senior editorial lead, providing scientific insight and strategic input across accounts, mentoring junior writers, and supporting the overall delivery of impactful healthcare communications.Core Responsibilities:Lead the creation and review of scientifically robust, client-aligned content across multiple formatsAct as the primary editorial contact for clients, offering scientific direction and consultationEnsure content consistently meets quality, compliance, and brand standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery and timeline adherenceManage multiple projects with accountability for planning, scope, and resource allocationProvide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, including review and feedbackStay up to date with relevant therapy area developments, industry guidelines, and best practicesContribute to internal initiatives such as training, knowledge sharing, and CSR activitiesRequirements:Prior experience in medical writing within a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical companyStrong scientific background (minimum of a life sciences degree; MSc or PhD preferred)Proven ability to produce and review high-quality scientific contentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in client-facing settingsExceptional attention to detail and understanding of industry compliance standardsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to evolving client needsStrong organisational, leadership, and project management capabilitiesConfidence in mentoring, training, and supporting junior writersWhat’s on Offer:Hybrid working model (3 days onsite)Competitive base salaryEmployer pension contributionPrivate medical insurance (including dependents)Life assurance and income protection coverAnnual wellness allowanceEmployee assistance programme and other wellbeing initiativesIf you''re a passionate and experienced medical writer ready to take the next step in your career within a collaborative and forward-thinking agency, we’d love to hear from you.
