Associate Information Governance Officer - (Hybrid)

Description

Our local government clients are recruiting an Associate Information Governance Officer. As an Associate Information Management Officer, you will be at the heart of our information governance. Your role is crucial in providing prompt and practical support for all aspects of information and records management by consistently applying our established policies and procedures.

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

A significant part of your responsibilities will be managing formal information access requests, such as those made under Data Protection (Subject Access Requests) and Freedom of Information legislation.

Qualification – Essential

  • GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Ideally, be educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media and CRM.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements - Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage.

  • Solid experience working with Subject Access Requests (SARs), specifically those relating to Children's Social Care.
  • Sound understanding of the workings of local government or similar types of organisations.
  • Experience in undertaking detailed redactions and applying exemptions in line with UK data protection legislation.
  • Experience of engaging with social workers and Children's Services staff to understand the necessity and sensitivities of redactions before disclosure.
  • Experience in communicating with care-experienced individuals with a high degree of sensitivity and respect.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make presentations on complex and sensitive issues to formal and informal groups.
  • Able to work in a public service context, with an awareness and appreciation of the culture and approach to delivery. 
  • Able to demonstrate ability to work on own initiative with flexibility and adaptability, as well as being an excellent team player.
  • Sensitivity to the political context of working with a large public sector organisation.
  • Able to access and communicate information through information technology,
  • Able to ensure that essential service information is stored efficiently for retrieval and analysis purposes.

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • 3 Years References
  • Standard DBS level is required
