An excellent opportunity has come up for an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering consultancy in Reading. This role is ideal for a senior engineer ready to step into a leadership position, with a strong mix of technical delivery, team management, and client engagement.

The Role

As an Associate Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality geotechnical projects while supporting the growth and development of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and delivering a range of geotechnical and ground investigation projects
• Leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers
• Producing and reviewing technical reports, including foundation design and geotechnical assessments
• Supporting business development activities, including client liaison and proposal writing
• Assisting with the financial management of projects
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations

Requirements

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related field
• Chartered or working towards Chartership (ICE or equivalent)
• Strong experience in geotechnical design, site investigations, and reporting
• Proven experience managing projects and teams
• Good commercial awareness and client-facing experience
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
