This is a key role within our National Development and Infrastructure Planning Team, who work collaboratively with our Environment Division. Working alongside a range of multi-disciplinary services within a team of planning experts, you will be delivering on a broad range of planning applications including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, airports, retail, logistics, major infrastructure projects and you will be helping to grow and develop business and, provide mentorship to junior planners.

What You Will Be Doing

Developing new customer relationships and maintaining existing businessDirecting and mentoring junior plannersProviding input into business plans and Chair Planning Meetings, influencing debate and contributing to discussion on operational mattersPreparing fee proposals and providing input into tender submissionsPreparing representations to Local Plan consultations, appearing at Local Plan Examinations and assisting with appeal co-ordination and statements of casePresiding over small/medium and large projects including coordinating team members, project finances, overseeing solutions in line with the customer’s expectations and ensuring delivery is on time

Who are looking for?

With experience within this sector, you will already be familiar with what we’re looking for:

Qualified MRTPI or in another relevant disciplineA highly experienced and knowledgeable practitioner who has experience in large energy and infrastructure projects, including those requiring Environmental Impact Assessment, and those relating to Developments of National Significance and Development Control OrdersFull membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and experience of delivering consultancy to a range of customersHave an established market reputation with a demonstrable record of winning sustainable and commercially viable projectsGood financial and project management experience is essentialGreat influencing and communication techniques that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and external bodies
