The roleHowden Surety are seeking a legally qualified candidate (law degree or equivalent to NQ and above) to work as part of their broking team based in London. The candidate would form of the legal and placement team, with a focus on supporting the team and leading placement of transactions with our international clients.
What you’ll do
Broking and placing surety bonds and guarantees.
Building and maintaining a relationship with clients and underwriters.
Reviewing and drafting of bond forms and indemnities for the Surety team.
Reviewing and analysing bonded contracts.
Drafting, negotiating and maintaining NDAs.
Assisting with maintaining exposure schedules for clients.
Assisting with compliance procedures as and when necessary.
Assisting the team with specific legal enquiries.
Who we’re looking for
Experience of working in an insurance/ surety/ bank environment desirable.
Good understanding of general contract law required.
A background in banking facility documents (including LMA style documents) is desirable but not essential.
A 2:1 undergraduate degree at minimum
Ability to manage deadlines and to manage own workload
Excellent written skills and attention to detail
