Associate Architect

Techniche Global are supporting a major UK retailer to appoint an Associate Architect who will provide process and governance services within Technology Architecture within a retail environment. Being creative and curious, you will be an integral part the Company’s empowered, self-managing technology teams supporting Products and Platforms in collaboration with others across architecture, platform and engineering teams. You will assist with process and governance of solution designs that solve complex problems for the Company’s customers and colleagues.
Rate: up to £500 per day UMB (inside IR35)
Location: London or Manchester- hybrid (3 days onsite/ 2 days WFH)
Duration: contract for 6 months initially
Key Accountabilities
- Decision Making and Oversight – Support the processes approval for all architecture decisions ensuring alignment with business priorities and investment strategies
- Governance & Compliance - Ensures adherence to architecture Principles, Standards and Patterns and best practice
- Demand Management - Has oversight on all demand which has an architectural impact
- Reporting – Demonstrate the progress of process and governance activities
Responsibilities
- Establish the core architecture governance forums (Delegated Design Authority, Architecture Review Board)
- Capture the key outcomes, decisions and actions and issue formal minutes to key stakeholders
- Manage the backlog of Solution Designs from being submitted to being approved (or withdrawn)
- Create a weekly status report on the progress of solution designs
- Manage the demand and supply of Architecture related resources working with internal Company teams where appropriate
- Support the Practice Architect with the process and governance activities (and acting as a delegate where needed)
- Delivery of solution designs to meet product/project timelines with minimal rework
- Adherence to architecture standards
- Provide evidence of growth in technical and architectural skills
Key Skills
- An understanding of technology architecture at a high level
- Very strong use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong stakeholder management
- Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels
