Assistant/Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Assistant Quantity SurveyorLocation: DerbySalary: 30,000- 40,000 DOEThis role would suit a graduate, trainee or early-career QS looking to develop their commercial skills within a supportive environment, gaining exposure to cost management, procurement and contract administration across innovative offsite construction schemes. We are working with a specialist offsite construction contractor delivering unique projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team across a range of construction projects.Key Responsibilities:Assist with the commercial management of projects from inception through to completionSupport the preparation of measurements, cost plans and project budgetsAssist with valuations, variations and final account preparationMaintain accurate commercial records and documentationSupport cost reporting and forecasting activitiesWork closely with project and site teams to monitor project performanceAssist with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliersDevelop an understanding of JCT and NEC contracts and commercial processesExperience Required:Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee QS role, or a relevant degree qualificationGood understanding of construction and commercial principlesCompetent numerical and analytical skillsKnowledge of measurement and cost management processesStrong organisational skills with attention to ..... full job details .....
