Assistant Workshop Manager

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Workshop Manager to join the engineering team at a well-established organisation. This is a varied role combining workshop leadership, engineering, data, reporting and systems, working closely with the Workshop Manager to support the smooth running and ongoing development of the wider workshop team. The Role As Assistant Workshop Manager, you will support the Workshop Manager with the day-to-day operation of the workshop and deputise in their absence. You will help lead, coach and develop the engineering team while also taking ownership of workshop data, reporting and systems. Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the Workshop Manager with the day-to-day running of the workshop. Leading, coaching and developing the workshop team. Supporting performance management and employee development. Producing accurate KPI, downtime and cost reports. Maintaining workshop records, service histories and inspection records. Managing and improving digital workshop processes and systems. Supporting budget monitoring and cost control. Ensuring equipment maintenance meets statutory requirements, including LOLER and PUWER. Carrying out quality checks, audits and inspections. Supporting workload planning and maintenance scheduling. Monitoring training, competence and apprentice development.
