Assistant Weighbridge Operator

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Weighbridge Operative / Yard Operative to join a busy scrap metal recycling operation.This is a varied role combining weighbridge duties, customer service, administration and yard work. Previous experience working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals is essential, including the ability to identify and sort different grades of scrap metal.Key Responsibilities Operating the weighbridge system to weigh customers and vehicles in and outProducing manual and printed weighbridge ticketsIdentifying and sorting different grades of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metalDirecting customers and vehicles to the correct areas of the yardAssisting with the unloading of smaller loadsCarrying out general yard and labouring dutiesOrganising daily jobs and collections for driversAssisting with transport administrationUsing an electronic till systemCarrying out general computer and administration dutiesProviding a professional and helpful service to customers Requirements Previous scrap metal experience is essentialGood knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metalsPrevious experience in a weighbridge, transport office, recycling or similar environment would be advantageousValid forklift licence requiredFull UK driving licence requiredBasic computer skills would be an advantage training can be providedGood communication and organisational skillsComfortable working both inside and outdoorsReliable and punctualReferences will be required What We Offer Pay ..... full job details .....
