We''re recruiting for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join a well-established and growing business in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Assistant Warehouse Manager who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced distribution environment.
The Opportunity Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you''ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse operation. You''ll lead from the front, supporting goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch and stock control activities while helping to ensure performance, accuracy and service levels remain high.
This is a practical leadership position, so we''re looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, supporting the team and stepping in wherever required to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day management of warehouse operations
- Supervising, motivating and developing warehouse staff
- Ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time
- Managing goods-in, stock control and inventory processes
- Allocating workloads and resources effectively across the team
- Monitoring performance and providing coaching where required
- Completing health & safety checks and audits
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Investigating and resolving operational issues
- Supporting staff administration including absence management and return-to-work processes
- Acting as deputy to the Warehouse Manager when required
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Assistant Warehouse Manager position
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, dispatch, stock control and inventory management
- Experience managing teams within a warehouse environment
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style
- Good IT skills, including Excel and warehouse management systems
- A Counterbalance or Reach Forklift licence (essential)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Salary of up to -38,000
