Location: London Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)

Day Rate: -351.76 - -595.29 (Umbrella)

Our client, a prestigious organisation in the finance sector, is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President for their Finance & Control Financial Reporting team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-established and collaborative finance function that plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Vice President, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting monthly and quarterly closing processes, ensuring accurate recording of accruals and prepayments.
- Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger corrections, ensuring proper classification of P&L and balance sheet items.
- Preparing and submitting quarterly Head Office reporting packages in compliance with JGAAP/IFRS.
- Driving the preparation of internal and external reports while coordinating across internal teams.
- Acting as a key contact during the annual external audit process, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements.
- Collaborating with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to enhance governance and reporting accuracy.
- Supporting management with detailed expense, headcount, and fixed asset analysis, delivering insights for decision-making.
- Identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Providing guidance and coaching to junior staff to strengthen team capability.
Key Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in finance, with strong exposure to financial and management reporting, preferably in a banking environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of Power BI or Power Query as a desirable asset.
- Oracle system experience.
- Strong IFRS knowledge and experience is essential
- Strong technical knowledge across period-end close, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Proven ability to analyse financial data, identify issues, and deliver effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- A collaborative spirit with a proactive approach to supporting colleagues.
