Assistant Town Planner

Job title: Assistant Town PlannerLocation: SurreyWe''re currently working with a highly regarded independent planning and development consultancy that is looking to appoint an Assistant Town Planner to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious graduate or early-career planner to develop their experience across a broad range of planning projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.The successful candidate will work alongside experienced planning professionals on residential, commercial, mixed-use and strategic development schemes, supporting clients through the planning process from initial appraisals through to application submissions and appeals.Key responsibilities will include:Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applicationsUndertaking planning policy research and site appraisalsSupporting the preparation of planning statements and reportsLiaising with local authorities, consultants and clientsMonitoring planning applications and responding to planning queriesAssisting senior planners on a variety of development projectsThe ideal candidate will have:A degree (and ideally a postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related disciplineStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organisational and research abilitiesA proactive and enthusiastic approach to workAn interest in progressing towards MRTPI statusPrevious planning experience within consultancy or local authority is desirable but ..... full job details .....
