About the Role

Are you looking to develop your technical career within construction and Passive Fire Protection (PFP)?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing technical team and build specialist knowledge in passive fire protection across a range of construction projects. You''ll work alongside experienced technical and fire protection professionals, supporting project teams, developing your technical skills and gaining valuable industry experience.

Key Responsibilities



Technical Support

  • Assist with project-specific passive fire protection requirements by reviewing drawings, specifications, service information and firestopping details.
  • Support design and project teams at relevant RIBA stages by identifying missing, conflicting or incomplete information and raising technical queries with appropriate guidance.
  • Prepare and maintain penetration schedules, firestopping matrices, trackers, client information sheets and other project documentation.
  • Help identify suitable manufacturer-tested firestopping systems and products for review and approval.
  • Provide technical information to estimating, operations and installation teams, including installation details, manufacturer references, marked-up drawings and relevant best-practice guidance.
  • Liaise with clients, manufacturers, site teams and other project stakeholders to obtain information and assist with resolving routine technical queries.
  • Support the Technical Consultant with day-to-day project and technical requirements.


Quality Assurance

  • Assist with quality checks of proposed and installed fire compartmentation works against manufacturer requirements, project specifications and internal procedures.
  • Support technical briefings and provide information to installation teams to help ensure works are completed in accordance with the appropriate tested systems.
  • Identify, record and escalate variations, defects, non-compliances and remedial requirements that may affect firestopping systems.
  • Support site inspections and maintain accurate records, including schedules, notes, photographs and supporting evidence.
  • Maintain accurate and revision-controlled project records for handover and Golden Thread requirements.
  • Follow company procedures and contribute to maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety and environmental compliance.


General Responsibilities

  • Communicate quality and technical requirements to clients and project teams where appropriate.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and provide updates on project progress.
  • Complete relevant training, CPD and professional development activities.
  • Support continuous improvement across technical processes and project delivery.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties relevant to the role.


About You



Essential Requirements

  • Minimum A-Level education or equivalent.
  • Ideally, at least two years'' experience within the Passive Fire Protection sector.
  • A basic understanding of internal fit-out systems, MEPH and/or firestopping.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career within Passive Fire Protection.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to contribute to or lead smaller client meetings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical, operational and project teams.


Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • Previous experience in Passive Fire Protection.
  • Exposure to design management or construction design processes.
  • IFE Level 2 qualification.
  • CSCS card.
  • Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDEs), such as Aconex or Viewpoint.
  • Familiarity with BIM and model-viewing software, including Dalux, Navisworks, Revisto or Autodesk Forma.
