Assistant Site Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a busy residential housebuilding project in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established housebuilder on a long-term temporary contract, with approximately 18 months remaining on the project.

The Role

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management and delivery of a high-quality residential development. You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Site Manager with the daily management of the construction site.
• Supervising subcontractors and coordinating daily site activities.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations.
• Monitoring the quality of work and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the development.
• Managing and coordinating trades to ensure the build programme is maintained.
• Carrying out site inspections and reporting progress to the Site Manager.
• Assisting with the management of materials, deliveries and site logistics.
• Supporting the completion of plots through to handover.
• Helping to maintain a clean, organised and professional site environment.
• Ensuring all site paperwork and documentation is completed accurately.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor or similar role within residential housebuilding.
• Experience working on new-build housing developments.
• A strong understanding of construction processes and build programmes.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage subcontractors and maintain high-quality standards.
• A proactive and hands-on approach to site management.

Essential Qualifications

• SMSTS or SSSTS
• CSCS Card
• First Aid at Work
• Full UK Driving Licence

The Opportunity

This is a temporary position offering approximately 18 months of work on an established residential development in Oxford. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a professional site team on a high-quality housebuilding project.
