Our client is an established specialist fire protection subcontractor, providing passive fire protection and firestopping solutions to major construction contractors across the UK.

The business has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality specialist fire protection works across a range of sectors, working closely with main contractors and project teams to ensure projects meet the required standards for safety, quality and compliance.

With continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, the business is looking to strengthen its site management team with an ambitious Assistant Site Manager who is looking to develop their career within the passive fire protection sector.



The Role

As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the successful delivery of firestopping and passive fire protection projects across the Liverpool area.

Working closely with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and wider project team, you will help ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager looking to develop their experience within a specialist and growing area of construction.



Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of firestopping works

  • Coordinating site activities and ensuring works are delivered to programme

  • Supervising subcontractors and site operatives

  • Monitoring the quality of firestopping and compartmentation works

  • Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements

  • Assisting with site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks

  • Monitoring health & safety and ensuring site procedures are followed

  • Maintaining site records, photographs and relevant project documentation

  • Assisting with material deliveries and ensuring materials are available when required

  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, main contractors and project teams

  • Reporting progress and any issues to the Site Manager / Contracts Manager

  • Assisting with inspections and quality assurance

  • Identifying potential issues and supporting effective solutions

  • Ensuring works comply with relevant fire protection standards and specifications

  • Supporting the successful handover and completion of projects



The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Assistant Site Supervisor or similar

  • Construction site experience

  • Experience within firestopping, passive fire protection, dry lining, interiors or a related specialist trade would be advantageous

  • Good understanding of construction site processes

  • Strong health & safety awareness

  • Good organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and site activities

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications

  • Proactive approach with the ability to work as part of a team

  • Relevant construction qualification would be advantageous

  • Full UK driving licence
