Assistant Services M&E Manager – Main Contractor
Our client is an established employee-owned main contractor delivering complex and high-quality construction projects across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Services M&E Manager to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical services across live construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E professional who is looking to progress into a more senior management position within a respected main contractor.

The Role
Working alongside the Services and M&E management team, you will assist with the coordination and delivery of all mechanical and electrical services throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the management of M&E services from pre-construction through to completion
• Supporting the Services M&E Manager with day-to-day project delivery
• Coordinating mechanical and electrical subcontractors
• Reviewing M&E design information
• Assisting with design coordination and technical reviews
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions
• Monitoring M&E installation against programme
• Attending project and coordination meetings
• Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and project teams
• Assisting with subcontractor procurement
• Reviewing subcontractor programmes and progress
• Monitoring quality of M&E installations
• Carrying out regular site inspections
• Assisting with commissioning and testing
• Supporting the management of variations and design changes
• Monitoring M&E costs and commercial changes
• Assisting with resolving technical and coordination issues
• Ensuring M&E works comply with relevant standards and specifications
• Supporting the project team with programme and sequencing
• Maintaining accurate project records
• Assisting with handover and close-out documentation
• Supporting the Services team across multiple projects where required

About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of building services and previous experience working within a construction environment.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an M&E / Building Services role
• Experience working for a main contractor, M&E contractor or specialist subcontractor
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services
• Experience coordinating M&E subcontractors
• Experience working on live construction projects
• Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
• Experience with M&E design coordination
• Understanding of construction programmes and sequencing
• Good knowledge of installation, testing and commissioning processes
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams
• Commercial awareness would be advantageous
• Relevant M&E / Building Services qualification would be advantageous
• CSCS / SMSTS would be advantageous
