Assistant Scientific Officers
We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our client, based in the Foyle Area as an Assistant Scientific Officer. Pay Rate: £26,449 to £28,094 per annum Start Date: ASAP Hours of Work: The normal conditioned hours of work are full-time: 37 hours (excluding meal breaks Monday to Friday). Location: Based in Foyle Area and will be required to work throughout the Foyle and Carlingford areas when necessary Job Duties Assistant Scientific Officers will assist in the delivery of a range of freshwater fisheries and environmental monitoring programmes throughout the Foyle and Carlingford Areas. They will be responsible for providing project support for laboratory work, fieldwork, data collection and report writing. They will report to their designated Higher Scientific Officer and/ or Head of Science to fulfil business needs. MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE: The main areas of responsibility may include: Providing assistance to existing marine and freshwater fisheries and environmental monitoring programmes including: riparian invasive species surveys, river habitat surveys, macro-invertebrate surveys, water sampling, equipment calibration, chemical and biological water quality monitoring and subsequent laboratory analysis. Data entry for Geographical Information System (GIS) and other databases. Calibration and maintenance of water quality monitoring equipment. Laboratory analysis of water quality samples.
