PSR Solutions are partnering with a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a -40m commercial project in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor and gain exposure to a major scheme from early pre-construction through to final account, within a structured and supportive commercial team.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Quantity Surveyor and Senior Commercial Team, you will provide day-to-day commercial support across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with subcontract procurement from tender through to award
• Supporting the preparation and issuing of subcontract documentation
• Assisting with cost planning and budget management
• Preparing and processing subcontractor payments, valuations, and variations
• Supporting cost monitoring and reporting to senior management
• Assisting with monthly CVRs and financial reporting
• Helping to manage commercial risk and ensure contractual compliance
• Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts

This role offers hands-on experience on a high-value commercial development, with genuine career progression within a Tier 1 environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor
• Experience supporting commercial management across multiple project stages
• Strong understanding of subcontract procurement, valuations, variations, and cost reporting
• Experience assisting with CVRs and forecasting
• Working knowledge of JCT contracts
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
• Strong commercial awareness, organisation, and communication skills
• Ambition to progress towards Quantity Surveyor level and professional accreditation (e.g. RICS)
