Your new role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will join an experienced commercial team on a significant project located west of Glasgow. Working closely with senior commercial professionals, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the commercial function while supporting the successful delivery of a major project.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with cost management and financial reporting
- Supporting the procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Assisting with contract administration and change control procedures
- Working collaboratively with operational and project delivery teams
- Supporting monthly forecasting and reporting requirements
This role offers the opportunity to learn from highly experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers within a structured and supportive environment.
What you''ll need to succeed
- Degree qualified or working towards qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Previous experience within a contractor environment, either through placement, graduate, or assistant-level experience
- Strong commercial awareness and a willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ambition to develop a long-term career within a leading main contractor
