Are you an aspiring Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career on a major regeneration programme?
The Role:
We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a dedicated neighbourhood team supporting a large-scale estate regeneration and investment programme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 12 months of relevant experience who is looking to gain hands-on exposure to major construction and housing projects while learning from experienced professionals.
Working within a specialist project team, you will support the delivery of approximately £250 million of investment across eight live projects, helping to monitor costs, analyse financial information, support commercial reporting, and contribute to successful project delivery.
This is a fast-paced and demanding environment where high standards are expected. We're looking for someone who is proactive, hardworking, eager to learn, and willing to take ownership of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial management of major regeneration and housing projects.
- Assist with cost tracking, financial reporting, valuations and budget monitoring.
- Review project and financial data to support decision-making.
- Maintain project records, spreadsheets and performance reports.
- Support cost analysis and commercial reporting activities.
- Assist with contractor and consultant management processes.
- Support project meetings and track actions and outcomes.
- Prepare and update Excel reports, including the use of Pivot Tables.
- Work closely with project, commercial and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
What We're Looking For:
- Around one year's experience within Quantity Surveying, construction, housing, regeneration or a related field.
- Understanding of commercial management and Quantity Surveying principles.
- Ability to interpret financial information and project documentation.
- Strong Excel skills, including spreadsheets, reporting and Pivot Tables.
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning.
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being hands-on.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond when required.
