About the Role

This permanent post suits an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager seeking rail infrastructure work. Based in the West End, the role supports commercial delivery across projects, either from the London office or a client site. Duties include cost variation assessment, supply chain liaison and contractor collaboration. Applicants need quantity surveying and commercial management experience, ideally with NEC contracts on rail or similar infrastructure schemes. The salary ranges from £30,000 to £50,000, with pension, RICS support and further benefits offered. Working pattern is full-time, permanent. Strong analytical, negotiation and reporting abilities are essential for success in this position.

THE ROLE

My client seeks an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Commercial Manager to join their London office or to work in a client office on rail projects.

You must have experience of quantity surveying and commercial management duties and have either Rail experience using NEC contracts or have worked on other infrastructure projects.

You will support the delivery of commercial activities within the delivery teams and you will work alongside the supply chain and contractors to provide cost variation assessment and other commercial activites.

THE COMPANY

My client is a long established busy firm of PQS with several offices.

My client works on projects for infrastructure and also for buildings.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Commercial Manager who has good experience of working on RAIL related projects or other infrastructure projects.

You should have a BSc or similar in Quantity Surveying.

You may be working towards taking RICS currently.

You will have in excess of two years quantity surveying experience.

You should have both pre contract and post contract quantity surveying experience.

You must have knowledge in the use of NEC3 contracts and ideally some NEC4.

Salaries will be between £30000 and £50000 plus good benefits and be negotiable according to your level of experience. Other large company benefits will also be given along with support to become fully RICS qualified.
