We''re working with a leading specialist contractor who are looking to add an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.

This role would suit an Assistant QS with around 1-3 years'' experience who is looking to take on more responsibility, broaden their project exposure and continue progressing towards Quantity Surveyor level.

You''ll work closely with the wider commercial and operational teams, gaining exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of live projects.

The role will involve:

• Supporting the commercial management of live projects
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment
• Assisting with cost reporting and forecasting
• Subcontractor procurement and management
• Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
• Assisting with variations, compensation events and change control
• Supporting final accounts
• Producing commercial correspondence and maintaining project records
• Working closely with project teams to identify commercial risks and opportunities

We''re looking for:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Construction or civil engineering experience
• A relevant Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management qualification, or working towards one
• Good understanding of commercial processes
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ambition to progress into a Quantity Surveyor role

Piling experience is beneficial but not essential - the key requirement is a solid commercial foundation and the ambition to develop.
