Job Title: Assistant Property Accountant
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: Up to -35,000 per annum
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home

Client Details

The Assistant Property Accountant will support the Management Accountant in the day-to-day financial operations of a growing property portfolio. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial records are maintained, charges are raised correctly, and reporting is delivered in line with internal controls and company policy.

Description

The key responsibilities of an Assistant Property Accountant will have:

• Support the setup and ongoing maintenance of financial records.
• Prepare and issue rent, service charge, and ad hoc invoices.
• Allocate incoming cash and ensure accurate posting to the appropriate accounts.
• Review and verify purchase invoices to ensure correct processing.
• Assist with payment runs through online banking platform.
• Perform routine bank reconciliations.
• Contribute to month-end activities.
• Prepare Budget vs Actual analysis and assist with reporting to stakeholders.
• Support year-end tasks, including accruals, prepayments, and responding to audit queries.
• Assist operational teams with budget preparation.
• Help maintain and enhance internal controls, systems, and financial processes.

Profile

A successful Assistant Property Accountant will have:

• Previous experience in a property accounting or finance role
• Understanding of property management accounting, including service charges
• Experience using Qube (desirable)
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to work
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
