Assistant Project Manager - Highways and InfrastructureRate: £300 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)Contract: 9-12 monthsStart: June 2026Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite at a local authority office in the East of England.The OpportunityWe are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a major highways maintenance and infrastructure programme within a local authority.This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy project team delivering essential highway improvement works, with a particular focus on a critical winter readiness programme across an extensive highway network. You''ll be responsible for coordinating preventative maintenance schemes and working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure works are completed ahead of the winter season.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver highway maintenance and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and delivery timelines.Prepare project reports, technical updates and progress reports.Support procurement processes and contract management activities.Build effective relationships with councillors, contractors, local communities and other stakeholders.Ensure projects comply with Health and Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.Undertake site visits and attend project meetings as required.About the ProgrammeThe successful candidate will support the delivery of a winter resilience workstream across a ..... full job details .....
