Assistant Project Manager Construction Consultancy
An established construction consultancy in London is seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join their growing project management team. The successful Assistant Project Manager will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use, heritage and student accommodation developments. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager looking to gain wider project exposure within a supportive consultancy environment.
The Assistant Project Manager will take responsibility for leading smaller projects while supporting senior colleagues on larger, more complex schemes. With structured development and a strong APC support programme, this position would suit an Assistant Project Manager who is committed to progressing towards chartership and developing a long-term career in project management.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Assistant Project Manager''s role
The Assistant Project Manager will assist with projects from initial feasibility through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, monitoring costs and timescales, coordinating design teams, attending client meetings and producing progress reports. The Assistant Project Manager will also help manage risk, oversee procurement activities and support the delivery of projects in accordance with agreed quality standards.
As experience develops, the successful candidate will be encouraged to take greater ownership of smaller commissions and build strong relationships with clients.
The Assistant Project Manager
The successful Assistant Project Manager will ideally have:
- A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or another relevant construction discipline
- Previous project management experience within a construction consultancy
- Experience supporting residential, commercial or mixed-use projects
- A good understanding of the construction project lifecycle
- Strong communication, organisation and client-facing skills
- Progress towards, or an ambition to achieve, MRICS, MAPM or another relevant professional qualification
- A proactive approach and the confidence to manage competing priorities
