Assistant Plant Operator

Astute''s EPC Power team is partnering with a leading Operator in the Power Industry to recruit an Assistant Plant Operator on an initial 3 months contract basis for it''s Operational Energy from Waste plant in Exeter. The Assistant Plant Operator contract position comes with a day rate from 350.00 to 400.00 per day inside of IR35.Key skills and responsibilities: Monitoring and operating plant equipment, to ensure efficient and continuous plant operations.Make plant rounds/inspections to check conditions of plant equipment and records operational data on log sheets.Operation of handing systems including remote access cranes, traffic management systems and other mobile plant equipmentConduct some basic maintenance tasks as required.Proficient with the use of hand toolsMaintains a clean and orderly work area.Well-rounded general skills with an understanding of plantStrong communication skills with a logical approach to problem solvingPractical skills including basic fitting or similar would be an advantage, but not essential.CPCS card other Plant operators licences would be an advantage (forklift/telehandler)Good understanding of industrial Health and Safety practices would be an advantageDCS/SCADA experience on an operational plant.Location, remuneration and timeframe of the Assistant Plant Operator role:Exeter 350.00 to 400.00 per day (Inside IR35)Start date - August 2026INDPOWAstute People are acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
