Assistant Planning and Development Manager
Location: Berkshire, Beenham
The Role
Identify development opportunities and manage early-stage projects.
Secure planning consents and statutory approvals.
Lead planning and regulatory submissions, including planning applications and EIAs.
Manage external consultants and collaborate with internal teams.
Provide expert planning advice to support informed decision-making.
Negotiate and oversee legal agreements (e.g. S106, S278, S38).
Monitor and engage with local development plans to protect and promote company interests.
Support operational divisions through the discharge of planning conditions.
Represent the business at liaison groups and contribute to Public Affairs activities.
What We''re Looking For
Minimum 2 years'' experience in a planning or development role.
Degree accredited by the RTPI and/or RICS, with membership or working towards chartership.
Strong knowledge of planning processes, including EIAs and appeals.
A genuine interest in waste, recycling, minerals, or sustainability sectors.
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation.
Commercial awareness and ability to interpret financial models.
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
Proficiency with MS Office, with knowledge of AutoCAD or other planning tools an advantage.
Full UK driving licence.
