Job Title: Assistant Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for an Assistant Town Planner to join their team in Swindon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Town Planner with around two years'' post-degree experience to further develop their career within a supportive and close-knit team. The role would suit a locally based candidate or someone with strong ties to the Swindon area.

THE ROLE

As an Assistant Town Planner, you will support the delivery of planning projects across a range of sectors, gaining exposure to all stages of the planning process.

You will work closely with senior team members while also taking responsibility for your own tasks, helping to build your technical knowledge and professional experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications
* Assisting with site appraisals and planning research
* Preparing planning statements and supporting documents
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
* Supporting senior planners on a range of projects
* Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations
* Assisting with project coordination and administration

WHAT WE''RE LOOKING FOR

* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
* Around 2 years'' post-degree planning experience
* Previous experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
* Strong understanding of the UK planning system
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well-organised and proactive approach
* Ideally based locally or with strong ties to the Swindon area
