Assistant Menswear Designer

The Company: We are looking for a creative and commercially minded Assistant Menswear Designer to join a busy design team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for Jerseywear and trend-led fashion who is keen to develop their career within a fast-paced supplier environment. The successful candidate will support key accounts, working closely with the Senior Designer, you will help create commercially strong, best-selling ranges tailored to the handwriting and customer profile of each retailer. Key elements of role are as follows: Supporting the Senior Designer in developing commercial jerseywear ranges Researching and identify the latest fashion and retail trends, translating them into relevant design direction. Creating inspiring trend direction boards covering colour, shape, fabric and styling details. Conducting retailer-specific trend and competitor research to inform design decisions. Assisting in identifying new fabric developments and market opportunities, working closely with the factory team to realise fabric newness. Preparing for customer meetings by compiling research packs, CADs, fabric swatches and garment samples. Attending customer presentations and design meetings alongside the Designer, assisting with note-taking and follow-up actions. Drawing and amend CADs using Adobe Illustrator.
