AssistantManager-CityofLondon(CostsLawyer/Solicitor/CharteredLegalExec/LawCostsDraftsman)GeminiRecruitmentarecurrentlypartneringwithspecialistLawCostsDraftsmen(CostLawServicesLtd)whoareseekinganexperiencedanexperiencedCostsProfessional(CostsLawyer/Solicitor/CharteredLegalExecorLawCostsDraftsman),withextensiveexperienceindealingwithInterPartesworkandLegalAidmaters.CostLawServicesislookingforacandidatetocombinetheir experiencewithpracticemanagementandassistanceinsupervisionstaffandtoassistinthedevelopmentoftheirpractice.Salary: Onofferisanattractivesalarypackage,asupportiveteamenvironmentand realprospectsforsuccessandpromotion.TheCompanywillconsiderapplicantswishingtoworkparttime,full timeorwithflexibleworkinghours.TheCompanywillconsiderHybridworking.Accountabilitywithinaremoteworkingcultureisthenormwithinthisbusiness.COSTSBACKGROUNDCostsLawServiceshavegrownexponentiallynationwidetoformateamofover30LawCostsDraftsmenandLawyerswithimmenseexperienceinallaspectsofcostslawintheUKand35+staffnationwide.NotOnlydotheyrepresentanationallegalaidpracticeonalltheirbilling,theyarenowfocusingongrowingtheirclientbaseintheUK,andduetothevastexpansionrequireanAssistantManager toassisttheCityofLondonTeam.Theirbroadspectrumofbillingservicesvariesacrossmultipleareasofpracticeisbasedonasound knowledgeofthecostssystemandtheabilitytomanageclientexpectationstoensuretheircashflow ismaintained.TheirworkinvolvesawidevarietyoflegalpracticeareasandincludingCourtofProtection,Children Law,ClinicalNegligence,CommercialLitigation,Family,HousingandPropertyLitigation,Immigration, JudicialReviewandPersonalInjurymatters.Thisincludes,allthevariedtypesofBills,PODS; Replies;Negotiations;Budgets–relevantprecedents,PAandDAassessmentsetc..TheRole:Theidealcandidatewillhavestrongtechnicalknowledgeandexperienceofdraftingbills,excellentnegotiationskills,supervisionortrainingexperiencewouldbebeneficial.CostLawserviceswouldalsobekeenoncandidatewhoarelookingtoreducetheirCostspracticeforamoreAssistant managementrole.ThesuccessfulcandidatewillbepartofamanagementteaminassistingoftheoverallbusinessdevelopmentoftheCompany.Thecandidatewillberequiredtodevelopandgrowthecompanybyexpandingitsclientbase,whilstsupervisingateam.Thecandidatewillbeinvolvedinperformancemanagementofdraftsmenandlawyersemployedor engagedasconsultantsalongwith,auditingandreporting,TherolemayalsoinvolveassistingtheManagerinrecruitmentofcandidatesthatwillhelpdeliver companyobjectives,wherenecessary.Theidealcandidatewillalsobeinvolvedindevelopingpolicy,stafftraining,strategicplanningand implementationofbusinessobjectives.PromotingtheCompanythroughsocialmediaactivitywillbeanessentialpartoftherole.Commitment,driveandahungertotakethecompanytothenextlevelwillneedtobeinabundance.Thecompanyislookingforexperiencedcandidateswhowill‘hitthegroundrunning’.MainDutiesandResponsibilitiesReportdirectlytotheManager;Professionalpro-activeapproach,strongclientcareskillsandaproactiveunderstandingofclients’ needs;ConductingPerformancemeetingwithCostsDraftsmenandLawyerstoensureindividualtargetsarebeingmet;EnsuringCompanyperformancetargetsaremetforteammembers;TrainingdraftsmeninInterPartesmattersofLAAandensuringchangesinCostsLaw orbillingpractices/proceduresarecascadedtotheteaminatimelymanner;Carryingoutstaffappraisals;Businessdevelopment–lookingtomarkettheCompanyinaccordancewiththestrategicbusinessdevelopmentplantoincreaseclientbaseandturnover;GuidingstaffwhohavequerieswhendraftingLegalAidClaims(Claim1’s/Claim1a’s/Claim2’s,interpartesbills,budgetsandplans);ToliaiseandadviseClientsfeeearnersofandsupportstaffinrelationtothevarietyof legalcostsmatters;Keepinguptodateandfurtherdevelopingcompanypolicy,procedures,manualsand casemanagementsystems;InvolvedinCompanystrategicplanningandimplementationofbusinessobjectives.Involvementinauditingandreportingofteammembers;KeySkillsRequiredDemonstratepassionandexperienceinaCostsLawAstrongacademicbackgroundi.e.withaLawdegreeAllroundlegalexperienceasaCostsLawyer,Solicitor,ChartedLegalExecorCosts Draftsmen.ClearunderstandingandapplicationofthecivilprocedurerulesandLAArulesrelating tocosts;Minimumof7years’experienceindraftinglegalaidandInterpartesbillsCostsNegotiationsExperience;Experienceinadvocacyskills;Priorsupervisoryexperience;Practicemanagementandbusinessdevelopmentexperiencehelpful;Businessacumenandt heabilitytomarkettheCompany;Excellentcommunicationsskillstoworkeffectivelywithalltypesofpeople;Excellentanalyticalandorganisationalskillsandabilitytouseowninitiativebutknow whentoseekguidance;Committedteamplayer,self-motivatedandprofessional;ExcellentITSkills-familiarwithMicrosoftOfficeapplicationsCostsMasteranddocumentmanagement skillsp;AbilitytomangesocialmediaactivitytopromotetheCompanyThislistisnotexhaustiveandtheremaybeotherdutiesasreasonablyrequired.ThecompanyiscommittedtoEqualOpportunitiesandembracesdiversityandinclusivityofitsstaffandstrivestoensurethattheirworkforcereflectsthediversityofthecommunitiestheyserve.Therecruitmentprocesswillwill ..... full job details .....
