Assistant Management Accountant

A small but thriving manufacturing business based in Canterbury is looking for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join the team initially for six months, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is a hands-on, varied position combining core transactional accounting with some management accounting responsibilities. You''ll be working closely with the wider business and will need to be comfortable taking ownership and hitting the ground running. Key responsibilities include:Managing and overseeing the sales and purchase ledgersProcessing and overseeing payroll for approximately 30 employeesPreparing basic monthly management accountsPosting journals and making accounting adjustmentsBank reconciliations and other month-end activitiesSupporting the wider finance function as requiredWorking with Sage Line 50About you:Experienced Assistant Accountant or Management AccountantStrong transactional accounting backgroundConfident working across ledgers, payroll and month-endExperience using Sage Line 50 is highly desirableManufacturing or SME experience would be advantageous, but is not essentialPractical, hands-on and able to work with minimal supervisionBased within a commutable distance of CanterburyAccess to a car is essentialThe opportunity: A salary equivalent to £40,000, initially on a six-month basis, with a genuine possibility of moving to a permanent role thereafter.
