About the Role
The Assistant Headteacher role based in Birmingham is a full-time, permanent position within an outstanding SEND school, offering a salary between £58,000 and £70,000 per annum. The Role:
- Lead the strategic development of the school's pre-formal curriculum
- Ensure outstanding provision for pupils with SLD and ASC
- Support and develop teachers, Teaching Assistants and middle leaders
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across the pathway
- Monitor pupil progress and ensure personalised learning outcomes are achieved
- Work closely with therapists, families and external agencies
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and school improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation and excellence
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Significant experience working within a SEND setting
- Strong knowledge of pre-formal learning, SLD and ASC provision
- Experience of curriculum development and implementation
- Proven leadership experience as an Assistant Headteacher, SENCO, Phase Leader or equivalent
- Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills
