We are looking for a motivated Assistant Fire Engineer to join our Team. You will be supporting our experts across a variety of projects both autonomously and as part of a wider Team, therefore it is key you are able to work efficiently as part of a Team, as well as independently. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised area and begin your journey with SOCOTEC.

Responsibilities

Have a basic understanding of fire safety issuesEngage with SOCOTEC Fire Engineers to develop core concepts of Fire EngineeringEngage with SOCOTEC Fire Engineers to select an appropriate topic for end of year dissertation/projectBe open to taking on some ad-hoc paid work, during holiday periods, assisting the Fire Engineering team with project workDrive your Continued Professional Development with the support of the Director of Fire Engineering

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil or similar field)Enrolled on a postgraduate fire engineering qualification (masters)Involvement and recognition with a professional bodyTo be extremely passionate about fire safetyConfident communicator, good customer service skillsSelf-motivated, able to prioritise and work on own initiative, as well as following instructions and working as part of a teamNumerate, and organised with attention to detailProfessional appearance and behaviourFlexible and adaptable to meet customer needs and changing prioritiesReliable, punctual, honest and trustworthy
