Assistant Financial Controller (office based)

Our client is a small manufacturing business in Doncaster, which is part of a large Group.

Description

You will be reporting into the Financial Controller, and will play a key role in the delivery of accurate financial reporting, maintenance of strong financial controls, and the day-to-day management of finance operations. This position offers broad exposure across all areas of finance. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Supporting with preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Assist with external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support tax and regulatory compliance activities.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance team members.
• Oversee daily finance operations and ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.
• Contribute to ERP and finance systems improvements.
• Drive process efficiencies and reporting enhancements.
• Identify and escalate financial risks and control issues where appropriate.

Profile

To apply for this position, you will:

• Be qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), or at the latter stages of study, or qualified by experience.
• Have strong experience in financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Have experience of preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  
• Live within a commutable distance to Doncaster.
