Assistant Financial Accountant

Assistant Financial Accountant Fareham - 3 days per week onsite 6 Month Contract £574 per day (Umbrella) We are seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to support the preparation of audited annual financial statements and statutory reporting activities within a complex organisation. This role plays a key part in audit coordination, financial governance, and ensuring compliance with current financial reporting standards. Key Responsibilities Support preparation of audited annual financial statements and external returns Act as key liaison point for external auditors, maintaining reconciliations and preparing audit evidence packs Provide analysis and interpretation of financial data to support leadership decision-making Ensure accuracy of monthly reconciliations and statutory accounts inputs Provide financial accounting and tax guidance across the organisation Support VAT returns, losses, special payments and financial controls Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable financial reporting frameworks Essential Experience Qualified or actively studying towards CCAB or CIMA qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIPFA also considered) Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting background Experience supporting external audit processes Knowledge of IFRS and current financial reporting requirements Strong Excel skills Experience delivering to tight deadlines in complex environments Desirable Public sector financial reporting exposure ..... full job details .....
