Assistant Financial Accountant

Robertson Bell are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant on behalf of an established organisation. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or someone actively studying towards their professional qualification to join a well-established finance team. The role offers broad exposure to financial accounting, with a particular focus on month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial controls and maintaining the accuracy of the ledger. It would suit someone looking to take the next step in their accounting career and gain greater ownership of core financial accounting processes. The Role Working as part of the financial accounting team, you will: Support the monthly close process, ensuring key accounting activities are completed accurately and to deadline. Complete detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances. Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, deferrals and other month-end adjustments. Review accounting entries and ensure transactions are correctly recorded through to trial balance. Assist with the production of monthly financial information and analysis. Maintain fixed asset records and calculate monthly depreciation. Reconcile payroll information and investigate any discrepancies. Support the preparation of statutory and tax-related information, including CIS returns.
