An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Farm Manager to join our client on a well-established, family-owned estate in Devon, specialising in premium Angus beef production. This role offers a clear pathway to Farm Manager as the current manager plans to retire within two years. The ideal candidate will have a strong livestock background, ideally from the beef or dairy sector, and practical grassland management experience. They must be comfortable overseeing day-to-day farm operations while also handling farm planning, budgeting, and grant applications. This is a hands-on role with team leadership responsibilities, requiring someone who can work alongside the team while stepping into a managerial position. The role includes: Daily livestock management, herd health, and welfare. Grassland and cropping management. Implementing the agreed farming policy, reporting to the Farm Manager. Farm planning, budgeting, and grant applications. Supervising and supporting the farm team. Maintaining and improving Health and Safety standards across the farm. The offer: £40,000-£55,000 salary (DOE) + accommodation. Opportunity to progress to Farm Manager within two years. Supportive environment with mentoring from the current manager.
