Assistant Director of Economic Development

We are supporting a Local Authority to appoint an experienced Assistant Director of Economic Development to provide strategic leadership across its growth and regeneration agenda.This role requires a senior leader with a strong background in Economic Development, capable of operating at pace and influencing at both local and regional levels.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and delivery of economic growth plans and strategiesDrive inward investment activity and support sustainable economic growthWork closely with regional partners to align priorities and maximise opportunitiesProvide strategic oversight of spatial planning considerations linked to growth and regenerationAdvise on and support innovative delivery models, including Development CompaniesContribute to the optimisation of funding opportunities, including business rates retention schemes and wider growth funding modelsKey Requirements:Significant experience working at a senior level within Economic Development in a Local Authority or public sector settingProven track record of developing and delivering economic growth strategiesExperience engaging and collaborating with Combined Authorities and regional stakeholdersStrong understanding of funding structures and models that support economic growthKnowledge of inward investment, spatial planning, and alternative delivery models (e.g. Development Companies)If you are interested in this role, or would like further information, please apply ..... full job details .....
