Assistant Depot Manager Canvey, Essex £45, days'' holiday + bank holidays Monday to Friday As Assistant Depot Manager, you''ll be joining a smaller distribution site where there''s already a strong Depot Manager in place. So, you won''t be walking in and being expected to figure everything out on your own You''ll be their number two. Someone they can rely on to know what''s happening across the depot, manage the team and make decisions when they''re not there. It''s a busy distribution environment, with stock moving, customer orders being processed and plenty happening across the warehouse during the day, and Assistant Depot Manager, you''ll be visible across the operation. You''ll know your team, know what needs doing and be comfortable stepping in when something needs sorting, but this isn''t about becoming the person everybody runs to with every little problem. A good Assistant Depot Manager knows when to get involved and when to let supervisors take ownership themselves. People management is a big part of it. You''ll need to be organised, comfortable dealing with different personalities and confident enough to have a conversation when something isn''t quite right. Health and safety will naturally sit alongside that too. You don''t need a specific qualification, but you do need to be someone who notices what''s happening around them and won''t ignore poor practice.
