Assistant Community Development Officer (Social Care Qualified) Location: Belfast (roles available in East and West Belfast)Pay: 14.35 per hour (Contract: Temporary Ongoing Start Date: 24 August 2026Hours: Two positions available - 37 hours/week (East Belfast) and 24 hours/week (West Belfast) About the RoleWe are recruiting on behalf of Belfast City Council for Assistant Community Development Officers to join the Community Services team within the City and Neighbourhood Services Department. We currently have two temporary positions available across Belfast - one full-time role based at Linenhall Street (East) and one part-time role based at Disraeli Street (West). This is a great opportunity to support community development programmes, working closely with local groups, volunteers, and statutory and voluntary agencies. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Community Development Officer in delivering community support plans and corporate objectivesResearch and identify local community needs and help initiate groups and projectsRecruit, train, and supervise volunteersAssist in developing community centre programmes reflecting local needsProvide administrative support to centre committees, including reportsSupport special programmes and events, including cash handling where requiredDeliver training to community groups using best practiceBuild and maintain relationships with statutory and voluntary partnersIdentify funding sources and support groups with funding applications Essential ..... full job details .....
