Employer: A contractor in the Merseyside area Salary: £30,900 competitive benefits package Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (office-based) We have an exciting opportunity to join a well-established contractor in the Merseyside area as a Junior Buyer / Assistant Buyer, supporting their Procurement and Supply Chain function across the Northwest.

The Role As a Junior Buyer / Assistant Buyer, you will: Support the Category Managers and Head of Supply Chain with procurement tasks across all divisions.

Assist with sourcing, tendering, RFIs, RFQs, ITTs, and mini-competitions.

Work with teams to develop specifications and evaluate supplier responses.

Ensure procurement processes are transparent, auditable and compliant with company policies.

Help maintain procurement workplans, savings plans and supplier performance reviews.

Drive cost efficiencies, value engineering and process improvements.

Provide support and guidance to colleagues and build strong supplier relationships.

About You Were looking for someone with: Experience in construction, housing or maintenance this is essential.

A background in procurement, estimating, buying or quantity surveying.

Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong organisational and analytical abilities, with good attention to detail.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Formal qualifications (such as a degree or working towards CIPS) would be an advantage but are not essential.
