Assistant Buyer

A great opportunity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment based close to Alfreton for an experienced Assistant Buyer. The role is based in the purchasing department and will involve working closely alongside other areas of the business to ensure cost effective buying, suitably timed for production/customer orders. Key Responsibilities: Ensure stock is available to coincide with planned production. Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Sourcing new suppliers. Highlight cost saving opportunities. Price negotiation. Using Excel to create stock reports. Raising of purchase orders. Support Senior Buyer with the purchase of raw plastic materials. Co-ordinate with internal departments such as Planning and Sales. Tracking of supplier performance.Review and consolidate supply base. This is varied and busy position, opportunity go and visit current and potential suppliers, and to make the job your own.
