Assistant Building Surveyor
Role Overview The Assistant Building Surveyor will support the delivery of building surveying services across a managed property estate. Working under the guidance of senior surveyors, the role will provide practical experience across building surveying, inspections, project delivery, statutory compliance, design, specification, tendering and contract administration. The role is suited to an early-career building surveyor seeking structured professional development and progression towards Chartered status through the RICS Building Surveying pathway. The postholder will contribute to maintaining, improving and safeguarding a diverse property estate, helping to ensure buildings are safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities Building Surveys and Inspections - Assist with condition surveys, measured surveys, compliance inspections and building pathology assessments. - Undertake site inspections and record accurate technical information. - Support the preparation of schedules of condition, defect reports and maintenance recommendations. - Collect and input accurate site information into relevant property and asset management systems. - Assist with identifying defects, maintenance requirements and potential remedial works.
